Urban Outfitters
While on the digital design team at Urban Outfitters, I learned all about working in-house for a brand and how to create relevant, seasonal campaigns within a larger identity. I designed emails, lookbooks, web display ads, and gift cards, among other things. I also managed the team’s files and worked with web development to ensure smooth implementation of all our work.
IGK Haircare
I created a digital lookbook to promote the release of new IGK haircare products. Inspired by the product packaging, I designed each slide to reference the colors found in nature. Along with the lookbook, I created a series of display ads promoting a product giveaway within the Urban Outfitters mobile app. Scroll through to see all slides.
The design is only part of the work - after the creative was approved each week, I gathered all the design files from the team and prepared them for implementation. This included QAing every asset- checking for typos, ensuring all images are linked to the final photo edit, slicing emails, exporting to specific settings and naming sets of display ads.
I cataloged and named all exports, placing them into the proper folder structure for easy development onto the website, UO app, or into an email. Then, I worked with the web developer to ensure the uploads across the board went seamlessly.
The process was tedious at times, but it taught me a lot about the importance of detail checking within type, export settings, proper file naming, and project sharing across teams.
Marketing Emails
As we all know, emails are essential for retailers to reach their customers far and wide. Here are some of the emails I designed for Urban Outfitters highlighting current sales, new releases, and fashion trends to follow.
Shoes!
I had a grand time drawing a set of sneakers to promote the new seasonal release. I’m more of a platform gal myself, but nonetheless, this was a fun project. I love to draw and enjoy any opportunity to use a real pen in design projects.
